Hey guys! I’m 5’2” and trying to lose fat while building muscle — and while I’ve got the workouts down, the nutrition side is killing me.
I aim for around 125g of protein a day, but I don’t use any powders or supplements — I stick to whole foods. The problem is, eating that much protein in actual food feels impossible sometimes.
Like, I usually eat 200g of chicken breast a day, and after that I’m just so full. I literally stay full for hours and get crazy bloated — like, my stomach sticks out so much I look pregnant. It’s uncomfortable and makes it hard to eat anything else to hit my protein goal.
Plus, I have GERD, so I can’t eat anything after 7pm, which means I can’t even spread my meals out later in the day.
Here’s a rough idea of what I eat: • Morning: Yogurt with fruit • Lunch: Chicken tacos (gluten-free tortillas + cheese) — this is where I get most of my protein • Later (if I’m still hungry): Eggs — but I’m usually not hungry at all after the chicken
So for the other short girls out there — how do you hit your protein goals in a deficit without feeling constantly stuffed or bloated? What’s working for you? I’d love to hear your meal ideas, hacks, or anything that helped you figure this out.
Thanks in advance!
