Hair loss, but my diet is healthy

I see a lot of people saying hair loss only happens with unhealthy restrictions. I eat 1300 calories or more a day; before I changed my diet I was easily consuming 2000. I’m a 5’4 female and was almost obese. I went from 170 to 135 in 5.5 months. My hair loss went from 30 hairs (in the shower) to 100-210. For reference, I used to eat fast food, fried foods, and ate whenever I was a little hungry until I was stuffed. A typical day used to look like:

Breakfast- 3 fried eggs, 4 tortillas cut up and fried with sauce, topped with cheese. (At least 600 calories)

Lunch- 3ish servings of nuts, a cheese stick, a soda (at least 700 calories)

Dinner-tacobell meal (at least 800 calories)

I was completely sedentary, often not even moving a mile throughout the day, and I would also eat sweets and chips

Now a typical day looks like:

Breakfast-yogurt and granola (200 calories)

Lunch- tofu and broccoli with a zero soda (300)

Snack- cheese stick and fruit (200)

Dinner- meat rice and veg (600)

My diet overall is a lot more balanced, I still eat out and still have sweets, and occasionally I overindulge. I am eating a lot more vegetables and a lot less oil.

My mom says hair loss is inevitable with weight loss.

There are other factors I’m considering but my insurance has lapsed so I can’t set an appointment until June which means I won’t be scheduled until August, earliest. I WILL be going to the doctor, I just want to see if anyone has a similar experience; I didn’t find the search helpful. Thanks!
