I used to be one of those people that thought I was invincible and could remain thin forever because I had “good genetics” and a “fast metabolism”. All jobs i’ve worked in up until this point always consisted of walking or being on my feet no matter what and I kept the same lifestyle/diet through all of them. My last job had me at 130-140 because I was getting well over 10k steps a day and eating one meal but I never actively thought about it. I wasn’t counting calories or steps or planning my meals out.
Well last year I got my first office job which I was excited about but I gained pretty much all the weight I lost back plus more lol. It absolutely humbled me and left me an emotional mess as I was only eating a meal a day still, so how could this possibly happen? I now realize the decrease in activity with the same eating habits fucked me over more than I realized and i’m glad to say a year and a half later i’ve been able to lose a good amount of weight but I don’t know if i’ll ever be able to get back to the same weight I was prior to this job, despite my best effort of getting my steps in, eating in a deficit, and hitting the gym.
