I (29F) am currently weighing 101,8 kg (224 lbs) and my goal is 77 kg (170 lbs). I've already lost 10kg (22 lbs) very slowly, in 2 years, just by doing light CICO and not exercising.
My question concerns protein. I don't lift right now (even though I should), but considering my current circumstances, being realistic, I will probably start walking 4 hours per week before I start lifting. I'm currently aiming for 1500-1600kcal as a weekly average and it has been working for me (that's how I lost that weight). I will probably lose weight even faster (if I manage to be even more consistent about it) since before I had a few low points that led me to 1900-2000kcal in some weeks.
The problem is that I NEVER manage to eat the ''ideal'' protein. I manage to eat around 50-100g per day on a 1500kcal 'budget' (100g being the absolute maximum), eating foods that I like + healthily, with most days being 50-70g. I COULD sacrifice my small daily dessert to eat more protein, cut out some fruits and olives, and put whey in its place, but that would sacrifice my enjoyment so much that I'm afraid I wouldn't be motivated enough to do CICO anymore.
In all the anamnesis that I had before I have ''good'' to ''excellent'' muscle mass in terms of health (for someone who doesn't exercise), so I think my body is prone to muscle gain naturally. But everyone always emphasizes that you must eat at least 1,5g per kg (so my ideal would be around 120g?). I simply can't fit 120g of protein into 1500kcal without being miserable.
I don't want to lose this 'natural' muscle, but at the same time, I think I still have a lot of fat to burn. What do you guys think, can I eat less protein and still lose only fat, at least for a while still? Or am I losing the little muscle mass that I have?
