Hi everyone. 29F. I’m currently 85kg approx, mostly excess body fat around my waist and lower abdomen and lower back, and for the last three weeks I’ve been going to the gym 3 times a week for approx 2 hours at a time. 1 hour incline walk on the treadmill at a brisk pace and then an hour working on either legs or arms with weights or on the cable machine or resistance bands. I’ve also been eating in a calorie deficit ranging from -200 to -500 a day. Hips are at 47” because of my lower abdomen and my waist is 40”.
I’ve also been trying to have lots of protein via whey protein shakes and through having tuna, chicken, and eggs. I struggle eating a lot due to having a low appetite. So apart from having a large protein shake, I’ve had a plain baked potato with either tuna or egg mayo with light mayo. Also been trying to drink at least 2L or more of water a day.
Currently burning on average 2000-2500 cals a day and eating about 1500-1900 depending on if I’ve had a gym day.
However these past three weeks I’ve been gaining weight and I’ve been incredibly bloated to the point I look heavily pregnant. I was 12st 9lbs at the start of this but now I’m 12st 12lbs.
I understand that when you initially work on your muscles you will gain a bit of weight with your body holds onto water to try heal the muscles, but not seeing the scale or the inches of the measuring tape go down is really frustrating me. How long does it last before I can start to see a reduction in body fat either reflected on the scales or on the tape?
I have PCOS and take Metformin and Spironolactone. I also take a small dose Ritalin for ADHD. For suppliments I have vitamin D, B6, and B12. Today I also bought some creatine to try tomorrow.
Sorry for how long this post is, really didn’t want to leave any context out that might be useful to know when trying to figure out what could potentially be going wrong.
