1600 calories and 4 days lifting

I (24F, 164cm, 77kg) started going to the gym again. While healthy mental health is my foremost goal, I also want to lose fat and be fit.

I have previously tried the 1200 calorie diet and it went horribly wrong because I was hungry and irritable every single day. Since then I have gained 10 kilos (over 2.5 years).

My gym split is of 4 days and I want to incorporate 8-10k steps and pilates for at least 2 days every week.

For now, 1600 seems enough. I am able to get 80-110g for protein per day. But I wonder if it is enough going forward? I want to get stronger and toned but I also want to lose fat and look (slightly) leaner. I will soon start my full time job and don’t want to lose focus. How should I proceed? I am confused about maintaining the same calorie intake or eat at maintenance so I can progress sustainably.
