I am a 34 yo female. I was around 125 pounds in high school, 135 in college but I’ve been steadily gaining weight since then and I want to get back down to around 130/140 lbs.
I started working out around April/May after a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I was also an alcoholic. So to say I had bad habits is an understatement. I stopped drinking on May 31st and haven’t had a sip since, I get cardio every day without exception: walking, jogging, bike riding, rowing machine. I have changed everything except switching to a strict diet because every time I limit myself too severely I end up giving up. Now I still eat pretty healthy compared to how I used to eat: no fast food, some protein and vegetables, my only problem is my sweet tooth. I sometimes eat candy and ice cream. But I count every calorie! I have a Fitbit which calculates my daily caloric outtake every day which is usually around 2500 to 3000 calories easily. I never consume more calories than I burn. Not once! Not since April. So I guess my question is: why the hell cant I lose any weight? I have been around 175 pounds for 4-5 weeks. I started around 187 so I did lose some weight. I am trying my best to cut out all sweets but I really thought it was all about calories in vs calories out. Approx 3000 calories burnt is a pound. So I guess my question is: is my diet that bad?!
