Tired of Being Fat

So, something happened tonight that really gave me a reality check. I [24F] am dating a guy [21] who is fairly out of my league in attractiveness. He is lean (140 lbs) and I am sitting at about 220 lbs... Anyways, I have always been a fairly chunky kid from the age of 9 to present day. I am familiar with the comments and looks I get, especially being with him. This is something I am extremely insecure about, and have made strives to change and have failed. I only ever got down to 170 lbs in 2011 and gave up after I got too complacent. I regret it. I never date lean guys for this reason in particular.

I just got told by his roommate in front of my boyfriend and his neighbor that his dad has mentioned my weight to him. My boyfriend didn't say anything as his roommate told me this. I had no idea, but had my suspicions. Anyways, I am done being fat and having my weight talked about behind my back like I am in elementary in my mid 20's. Most of all, I want to be healthy and take my power back for me. Please provide advice on how I can mentally and physically start this process and be successful.

tl;dr: My boyfriend is a lean cuisine and his dad talks about my weight confirms the insecurity I have to finally lose the weight. I would like some really helpful tips on how to start the process and succeed.
