Feeling discouraged after an intense workout

I just left a 30 minute HIIT class, and I'm feeling really discouraged. I was optimistic when I signed up, but I couldn't do it, and it was embarrassing. I basically had to stop halfway through. I really tried, but I felt like I was going to pass out if I didn't slow down. I guess I didn't realize truly how weak I had gotten.

For some background, I'm 24, and I was quite fit in high school, underweight even. Then in college, I got hit by a really bad depressive episode that lasted basically the whole time. It didn't matter to me if I lived or died, so I ate like garbage and never worked out. Now I'm much better mentally, finally getting to a place where I care about my health, but I'm 60 pounds heavier and on medication that also caused me to gain weight (no regrets though, it saved my life).

How can I stay motivated to get fit when it feels so hopeless sometimes?
