Dropped past 200 for the first time in years!

Hey all! Just a quick post here, unfortunately I didn't take a "before" picture as I really didn't enjoy looking at myself, but I've made very good progress!

About 10 weeks ago I really decided I needed to start losing weight after I hit 227lbs from a winter of stress and anxiety eating (I had hovered around 215 for years), and picked up a stationary bike on clearance. I already had a 15lb dumbell hanging around as well, so I dedicated myself to alternating between cardio on the bike and upper body work outs with the dumbell every day. Basically just took a break day whenever I felt I could potentially injure myself with overwork (so every 10 days or so).

On top of that, I cut out buying all snacks (chips, cookies, etc), started drinking only water, and cut down a ton on the carbs I'd been eating. I used to buy big packs of dinner buns and eat 3ish a day cause it was easy, but thats 600 calories right there! I set my goal to be about 1600cal a day and started really emphasising the veggies in my diet (still load it up with seasoning, butter, and sauce though. I will never stop!) while limiting my portions better. The biggest change was my dinners, which I essentially cut in half for some meals. No more 12 perogies, now only 5 with a bit of steamed carrot.

Anyway, after about a month I weighed myself for the first time, and was at about 211! I was super happy, lost 15 pounds with the dedication, and really wanted to keep going. I stuck to my routine (though a camping trip a couple weeks later was a bit of a break) and here I am today, weighing myself for the 2nd time in 10 weeks on a whim before bed here, and I clocked in at 197.5! I'm so excited, I really just wanted to type this all up somewhere to share, and felt this was a great place to do it. I feel better, my partner says I look different (especially in the hips, stomach, and thighs area), and drop in sports are starting up again in my town, so I'll be getting even more intense activity in the coming months.

Thanks all for reading, and if you're someone who hasn't started yet, you can do it! Once I got past the first 2 weeks, everything got so much easier. I believe in you!

Sleep tight everyone!
