Planning to get a gym membership very soon and would like some tips/advice.

So I've already lost about 20lbs through being more mindful of what I'm eating and whether or not I'm actually hungry. But I want to take the next step and start being more active. I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and the doctor said I should start walking every day along with working on my diet. There isn't really any areas I feel comfortable walking in my area but there is a Planet Fitness nearby and I figured using the treadmills there would be a good way to start going to a gym and getting over my anxiety of being there. I have a lot of joint and muscle pain pretty much all over my body, so I'm unsure if I should do any kind of resistance or weight training right off the bat. My plan was to pretty much just spend a few weeks walking on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes every weekday. I don't know if this is the right move, so that's why I'm here.

So far my plan is to go today to get a membership and starting Monday, go very early in the morning and use a treadmill for a half hour or so every weekday. Would it be beneficial for me to do other kinds of workouts while I'm there? Or is it smart to stick to cardio until my body gets more accustomed to being active? I've spent the last 2+ years pretty much just sitting on my ass at the computer, pretty much any form of exertion wipes me out, that's why I want to start out small.

Also, this is literally my first time trying to actually work out in any way. I've been sedentary most of my life. I don't really know what I should do before, during, or after doing cardio or working out in general. I know I should bring water. Is early morning (4:30am is my plan since they open at 4 on weekdays and I want to avoid people as best as I can) a good time to go? Should I eat breakfast before or after? Skip breakfast? I'm pretty clueless but really determined to get started. I think this could help me get a routine into my life because I work from home and don't really have any kind of schedule for sleeping or anything. I just want to know if my plan is correct or if there's anything I should do differently. Literally any gym-going tips would be helpful, particularly if it considers the high blood pressure and body pains.

Thanks in advance.

Also, if this is the wrong place to post, I'm sorry.
