People sugar-coating the amount of progress you’ve made (or lack thereof) doesn’t help anything at all. It doesn’t make me feel better because I know I’m being lied to (I.E. “You’ve lost so much weight!” When the scale says otherwise), and it makes me feel like I can’t come to these people for an honest opinion. Does anyone else experience this? My parents and my girl friend are the two biggest culprits, and while I love them and appreciate how supportive they are being, when they make me feel like I’m making more progress than I actually am, I feel more inclined to slip back into bad habits that caused me to become overweight in the first place. TL;DR I know I’m overweight, trying to spare my feelings is far more hindering than it is helpful.
