I had a horrible night

But I didn’t fall of track.

I was cooking dinner when my mom reaches out to tell me my sister was being life flighted due to an auto accident. It would take my mom 2 hours to get an update (rural area and had to travel to the metro for the hospital). Ten minutes later my towns tornado sirens go off and we have a touchdown just south of me. My husband and I then spent nearly an hour in the bathroom riding out the storm with cookies in hand. I ate my treat limit an no more.

Storm didn’t hit us thankfully and so far no fatalities. A couple hours later I find out that my sister is definitely in a bad spot but will recover.

Something like this would have been the reason for me to eat bad. It may be selfish to think about myself in this moment but I feel proud that I handled a rough night without making it worse.
