The "peer pressure" to eat unhealthily is worse than peer pressure for drugs or alcohol.

I am currently visiting my family for Easter (at a big family Easter party now) and i have to keep constantly reminding my family members (mostly my extended family) that I am on a diet and do not want that cake or pie.

The reaction I keep getting is "oh it's okay to splurge a little for the holidays!" or something along those lines. It's absurd and they keep getting offended I'm not eating their crap. If I was telling them that I was trying to quit drinking and declined an offer for a drink, they would leave it be. But declining the offer of my aunt's pecan pie might as well be me slapping her across her face.

End rant.
