My story and what i learned from my weightloss. M 6'0 SW 240 CW 185

So I started working out in August of 2018 to get my mind of a bad breakup from a long term relationship. My heaviest i weight 240 and I'm at 185. I've lost 55 pounds and gains a good amount of muscle Heres some photos: (http://imgur.com/a/cpVuk55)

I really used workouts as a way to get lost from my crazy thoughts about the breakup. Let's just say I was at a all time low and my friends and coworkers saw the sadness in me. But looking back it was one of the best things that happened to me. Before I had a unhealthy relationship with food. Tons of fast food, most of my last relationship involved food and drinking. Nights out drinking and late night food was the norm. I had heartburn, stomach issues, i was sluggish and sleeping in. I was missing out. Couldn't do a push up or pull up and I got winded easy. I was depressed that I took 8 years to graduate college while working full time and turned to food, drinking and weed for my vices. But after my bad breakup I used excerise as my escape. It started simple walking on treadmill, to running with my friend, to buying a gym membership. I literally went from couch potato to gym rat. I go to gym before work or after work. I have "active days" where I do a workout at home with exercise mat. I began to hike solo and with friends. I began bike ride and just do active things daily. I walk my dog I just enjoy the world way more. The praises I get from family and friends they say I'm amazing and I motivate them. I'm dating and attracting women. I'm confident and my fun self again. People are noticing my transformation. Old friends are saying I look like a different person. I can't even count how many customers at my job say a remarks like "you lost alot of weight" "I didnt even recognize you" "how'd you do it?" How did I do it? My coworkers even tease me about it, it's getting old lol! I did mindful eating, no true "diet" just calorie counting and excerise. Protein and vegetables based diet. I stayed at my calories goal and am carb conscious. All natural, exercise, mindful eating, calorie counting, and vitamins. At one point at my life I was at 31% body and today I did it at the gym I'm 14.5%. I was so proud of that, it was colmanation of all the hard work, sweat and consistency.

Something snapped in me where workout isn't a chore anymore. I enjoy hiking, gym, biking, HIIT workouts and lifting. Find your passion! What works for me might not work for you! I'm impressing myself everyday in the gym. Trust me when I say this, that cardio isnt the key to gains its lifting and cardio! Muscle is a calories killer. Variety excerise everything but diet is #1. Is still at times struggle with diet of course but I make so many more healthy choices its paying off. I want to eat healthy now! Where I want to be able to take tshirt off with no body image issue! Am I completely there no? Really working on my stomach fat. Am I expert? Heck no I'm learning and growing. This is a lifestyle! Make it a lifestyle! No fads, gimmicks, just hard work and dedication to be healthy. CONSISTENCY IS KEY. We all have bad days, plateau, times we want to give up. But if you keep going and keep that positive voice in your head you will get there and maintain.
