Is it normal to have days where you feel you're absolutely starving?

I've been having mixed success with CICO. I'm 31 years old (f), 5'5", and 315lbs. I've been limiting myself to 1400 calories a day being incredibly sedentary activity wise but I'm looking to start walking now that the weather is warmer. Anyway...

There are days where my body is sort of "OK" with the calories I consume. A small breakfast, medium lunch and medium dinner with fruit or veggie snacks in between works well. However, there are some days where I feel like nothing I eat is enough. I get hunger pangs that make me want to vomit, I feel low on energy and I feel like I just need to eat and eat and eat because nothing I intake is going to make that hungry type nausea and the growling go away.

I don't know if this is normal, or if this is my body getting used to the calorie deficit, or I'm I'm not consuming enough, or what. I'm alright with having cut out soda/sugar/fatty foods/cheese and whatnot from my diet but I'm eating well (meat, veggies, fruit, low sodium stuff, unsweetened things, etc).

Is this normal to feel this way? I could use some advice or some help.
