So, I've been fluctuating between 155 and 152 for a few weeks now, and my lowest this time around has been 150, briefly. I'm a 5'4, 29 year old woman. This is my second rodeo, as 6 years ago I was 200 lbs and got down to 130 through weight lifting and low carb.
I started out at 161 in January of this year, ran a little bit, got down to 155ish, and then stopped exercising and eating well. I then got some less than ideal bloodwork results back from the doctor (high cholesterol. Yikes) and decided that I needed to get my shit together. That was March 20th when I made that decision and was at 152ish lbs.
I started doing couch to 5 k (C25k), eating better, stopped doing my mega lazy keto that I was just not into anymore (because when I say mega lazy, I mean I'd eat some high fat low carb dish and then get take out the next day. Rinse. Repeat), and incorporated more carbs as of last week in the for of sweet potatoes, whole grains and less cheese.
I'm now on Week 6, day 2 of C25k. I've shaved off 3 minutes from my mile time (13:30 down to 10:30), I can run over two miles with out stopping, and I'm generally FEELING very very good. I eat between 1200 and 1400 calories a day and I weigh everything. I even bought a mini scale for work that I use for oatmeal or whatever food I feel I need to weigh. My fitness is obviously improving, ad I'm really so proud of that, but my weight doesn't seem to be coming off. Ive been fluctuating between 154 and 152 for weeks now. Today I weighed in at 153.2. My clothes generally feel more comfortable in the sense that when I sit, the waistband isn't digging into me as much, but over all not a huge difference.
I'd love some insight and thoughts on why my weight is the same, I guess. Or to vent as this is frustrating. Could my body be hokidn gon to water because of the newly introduced carbs? Could it be holding on to water because I'm now exercising consistently? I don't think I'm necessarily building muscle because it's just running. I'm definitely exerting my self and improving and getting faster, but I'm not lifting weights (like I used to). I also know how to count calories and track and weigh my food, so I really don't think it's that.
I just would really appreciate any thoughts on this to maybe settle my lizard brain down. Thank you!
