I started counting calories and now I can't stop.

I was trying to diet in a healthy way. I'm 5'4" and 131 lbs. I walk about 3 miles a day with my dog. I started eating 1200 calories a day, and then I thought, stupidly, why not just 1000? And then, why not 800? And so on and so forth and now I feel really like, an intense fear at the idea of eating more than 600 calories a day, so some days I just don't eat at all. I had a glass of water for lunch. I hate it when the weather gets warmer and I remember that at some point I'll have to go to the beach and everyone will see my body. :(
I think I'm just venting. I don't know how to not be afraid to eat anymore.
