This post likely doesn't belong here but considering there are so many people here that have similarly lost a lot of weight I figured I'd post.
In the last few months I've been extremely itchy at times. I have very sensitive skin and I live in cold/windy chicago but usually dry skin doesn't make me itchy. To add to it, my skin hasn't been particularly dry.
As I've lost weight I have gained an increasing number of varicose veins. For context, my journey has been over the last 2-3 years. The most weight I've lost in any year has been 80 pounds, so nothing super rapid. After doing some mild research on varicose veins, there seem to be a lot of overlap between the symptoms I'm experiencing and the symptoms of itchiness by varicose veins.
I'm not looking for professional advice. I plan on going to see a doctor to get a recommendation if going to a vein center makes sense. Rather I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. If so, what did you do about it, and was that intervention a positive experience? What were some benefits you found that may not seem obvious? I know varicose veins cause other cardiovascular issues because blood is essentially being re-routed through your body poorly. As an endurance athlete I'd be curious to understand the effects of that better, but again I can probably just get that from a professional.
Thanks everyone and keep up your progress. No matter where you're at today, or even what mistakes you're making. You can do this.
