Started counting calories today

I am someone who NEVER truly commits to losing weight. It’s been a year or so since I’ve actually tried. Today I decided to at least start counting calories. I started using the MyFitnessPal app again and told it that I’d like to lose 2lbs a week, which means I only consume around 1800-2000 calories a day. As I said, I never truly commit to this kind of thing but I want to WANT TO commit for my health, my family’s health, and to set an example for my kids. I’m concerned about even weighing myself because I’m worried about where I might be.

This post was originally meant to be a way for me to ask about foods that are filling but low cal (before I go to the grocery store) but I also think I’d like to know how others finally committed to losing it.
