Maintaining weight after losing it, will it ever stop feeling like a diet?

I've bounced up and down in weight over the years, and each time I've lost the weight I think "I'm done now" and I slowly slip back into the same habits; I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this.

Obviously this isn't the right way to go about keeping weight off, and I want to make sure that when I lose the weight this time, It stays that way; But how do people do that?

I know the obvious answer is to set my calories to maintainence, and to keep tracking forever. But I've heard a lot of people say things like "I've changed my relationship with food", and that's what I really want to do, to learn to eat in moderation as a habit, so it doesnt feel like a force of will.

Can this happen? Is it just a matter of sticking with it until it becomes normal, Or will I always feel like I'm struggling to keep the weight off?

I hope this doesnt come off as me being naive, or me looking for an easy way out. I know losing the weight and keeping it off will be hard, I just want to make sure I know what I'm doing this time so I stay at a healthy weight.
