I am 28 years old, female and I thought generally healthy. Well, to an extent. Last year, I was 200+ pounds, lost a bunch of weight and now I’m teetering between 148-150 pounds. I do have a bunch of autoimmune/health issues like Hashimoto’s, POTS and fibromyalgia but I’ve been doing keto the last 1.5 years and it’s really helped with my symptoms. I went into the hospital with chest pain on Thursday, they kept me overnight and did some bloodwork. I just saw my cholesterol level was 214 and my LDL was 143. I used to be a huge gym rat, work out a lot, ride my bike 10+ miles a day. I’ve always eaten really clean but the last year and a half because of POTS, I haven’t been able to work out because I pass out a lot.
I am totally freaking out because of my cholesterol levels. How the heck do I get my LDL down? I’m thinking of just nixing keto and eating ALL of the veggies, chicken and rice like I used to, counting calories and seeing how that goes? According to a macro calculator, I should be at 124g protein, 148g carbs and 40g fat. I can fill myself up with all of the veggies and fruit. Does this sound reasonable to get my LDL down? I’m terrified. I’m on my 28, I have two special needs children around that need their mama. I eat clean, organic unprocessed foods. I’m so confused.
What I did in the last year and a half, my cholesterol is way worse than when I was bigger
