I am new to reddit, but have been lurking on this subreddit for a long time now and thought I should contribute. Everyone here is so supportive and helpful, and I would love to be part of this community.
I have been strictly following CICO and using my elliptical at home for the past few weeks about 45-60 minutes a day 5 days a week. The electrical portion of my elliptical is broken so that I cant see how many miles, calories, or how long I've been working, but I am able to increase and decrease the resistance. Basically I have been at level 17 out of 20 in terms of difficulty/resistance and don't really track how many calories I've burned. I also don't have any sort of smart watch. I am usually sweating bullets and my heart is racing and I enjoy it more than my HIIT workouts or my beginners strength workout routine.
I was just wondering, since I enjoy cardio so much, maybe I could think about dabbling in some jogging or running routine? I just feel like my current weight is still too much to be running and I could seriously hurt myself. Should I wait until I've lost more? I do not want to injure myself but honestly, the exhilarating feeling I get when using the elliptical makes me want to go outside and run like crazy lol... I feel like I can conquer the world when I'm working out and I don't want to lose that feeling by getting bored by the elliptical at home. But I am also conscious and I don't want my neighbors seeing me running at this weight.Do you think I should start? If so, any tips for beginners?
TLDR: At my current weight, should I try jogging? If so, any tips for beginners?
