I hope this doesn't sound ridiculous, but it's not clear that I have had a lifetime addiction to potato and corn chips, particularly potato chips. I'm truly wondering how to deal with this addiction?
- Give them up for good and treat them like a drug or alcohol addiction.
- Never buy them, or bring them into my house, but enjoy them at parties, cook-outs, etc?
- Enjoy one bag of plain tortilla chips (the type I am least addicted to) once a week, or once a moth?

Eating a few handfuls of chips at a party doesn't cause me to pick up a bag(s) on the way home, but I do wonder what would happen if I just gave them up? It would be a real bitch for me to do that, but after enough time would my craving for them diminish? Thank you sincerely.
