I’ve been telling myself I was going to get back into exercise and start eating healthy, stop binging, for a while now. I’m a 30 y/o, 5ft5 female and at my preferred size as an adult I was 125lbs (aged 23). I then went up to around 133lbs until 3 years ago, when I moved to Brazil. Since then, it’s been going up... to 147lbs. I know this is by no means really big, but for me, I have not been happy for a while, I don’t feel comfortable in my own body.
I have tried Keto, paleo, vegan, whole 30... you name the diet, since I’ve been in Brazil I’ve tried them all. But the maximum I’ve managed is (honestly) around 4 days - then I binge on crisps or mozzarella cheese and quit the diet for weeks until the next fad takes my fancy. Consequently, I was sluggish and feeling TERRIBLE about myself.
However - a week and a half ago I decided I really had had enough. I set myself the goal to exercise 5 times last week (a combination of couch to 10K - I have completed this programme before so began at week 4 - I want to get back into running... and sweat it to shred it by the YouTuber sarah’s day). And I did it! And then a week ago I also started calorie counting quite strictly, I set my fitness pal to 1 pound a week and from that it says I should be eating around 1460. I’ve continued the exercising into this week and have done Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday already - so I’ll have a rest day tomorrow.
Anyway, I’ve been strict with myself food wise but eating all food groups - some bread, veggies, lean proteins, fruit... I’m lactose intolerant so I’ve had nut milk, lactose free mozzarella - following meal plans from another YouTuber Leizyl Jayne who also has a super packed written blog. Honestly, the food has been delicious!
Today, I weighed myself - and I’ve lost 4lbs :) I’m so pleased with this in a week and a half and I understand that it’s maybe water weight etc and it’s unlikely to continue at this speed. However, this small victory has really spurred me on with my goal of losing 1lb a week. Slow and steady wins the race, I heard!
