To The "CICO People" Out There, according to Dr. Fung our ‘diet’ doesn’t work and we don’t know shit.

Honestly, what do you think about this article? He states he's studied biochemistry and therefore as of now is entitled enough to tell "the CICO people" that what we do is bullshit, lol. In fact, we’re worse than Scientology:

_"What happens when you recommend a diet that is guaranteed to fail? Well, you might get a huge worldwide epidemic of type 2 diabetes and obesity.

Unfortunately, all the nutritional authorities all belong to the same CICO cult, and we are all paying the price for their stupidity. You thought Scientology was bad. CICO is even worse.”_

He says a calorie deficit won’t kick it and won’t be successful long term because it’s ALLLL about insulin. He states the body doesn’t CARE about calories, it wouldn’t know what those are, a few lines later he states the average human requires 2000 calories a day to maintain their weight. Uhhh, I thought calories didn’t matter?

"That’s like saying that foods that are blue are the same – whether they are blueberries or blue raspberry Gatorade. The body doesn’t care about color, so why would I? In the same way, the body doesn’t give two sh**s about calories, so why should we? However, the body DOES care a lot about the hormonal response to the foods we just ate."

Insulin is where its at. When insulin is high the body WONT get energy from fat stores becaaaause guess why? INSULINNNNN! Insulin apparently tells the body to not burn fat.

ALSO he claims as you reduce your calorie intake the body lowers its metabolism to that number and you’ll be 'plateauing’. So he states the hunger mode is real.

”So, as you reduce your caloric intake to 1200 calories in, the body is forced to reduce it’s metabolism to only 1200 calories. No energy is available anywhere else. This is precisely what happened on the Biggest Loser as seen in the study featured in the New York Times. This is also precisely what happens during any caloric reduction diet."

Can anyone tell me if it was just hair or perhaps mascara-covered lashes I’ve lost since January weighing around 19lbs? Because I’m one of those CICO people who are doomed to fail miserably.

Someone enlighten me on this article and tell me if it’s just bullshit or if actually there’s some truth to it.
