Brands are taking advantage of the moment: Lucia Pica, global creative makeup and colour designer for Chanel, is counting down the days until February 14 with a horoscope-tailored entirely red makeup look for every astrological sign, gazing into her stylish looking glass to deliver all our romantic fortunes. She’ll already forecasted her thoughts for Tauruses: “Ombre Première in Pourpre Profond for your eyelids and Rouge Allure in Tentation for your lips,” for a “visible action toward reaching your goal: to single mindedly seduce the object of your desire.”
Whatever your star sign, you can’t go wrong with a red lip. There are always the classics to turn to—Nars’ “Jungle Red”, M.A.C.’s “Ruby Woo”, Chanel Rouge Coco in “Gabrielle”—but there’s new class of hues to shelves. With formulations made to suit a wide range of skin tones, ultra-light textures and intoxicating scents, the latest lipstick launches are more than worthy of V-Day date night. Or, more importantly, worthy of storming Congress.
