Guys, I've been keto for about a year and a half (maybe a little more?) I've been super strict the whole time. I've lost about 85-90 lbs. But that's not even what I'm excited about. I'm excited about my Jean size! I'm a size 6! I haven't fit into jeans this small since probably 8th grade! And now I'm 25! Really, I was always on the chubby side growing up and this is the best shape I've ever been in. And I don't even work out excessively, just some cardio and a little bit of weights a few times a week. It's all thanks to diet! Thank you keto! I feel like I'm at a healthy weight for the first time in my life (although still technically a little overweight, I'm pretty short) and it's so amazing. I would've never thought it was possible for me to be this size. I just always believed I was a "big girl" and it was impossible for me to be slim and conventionally pretty. I couldn't have done it without this sub, even though I mostly lurk, it's relative subs and my lovely husband who's been on this keto journey with me. Woohoo!
My advice to others on this path: Be strict but give yourself a break now and then. When we first started this, we only cheated for our cake tasting and actual wedding meal. Now that we're closer to our final weights, we'll have higher carb counts maybe once a week but still count calories. You don't have to give up all your habits. I still drink diet Coke. I've cut back, but didn't cut it out completely. It's my guilty pleasure, make it work for me. Have a partner if you can. I couldn't have done this without my husband. Drink lots of water. Enjoy your life NOW! Don't wait til you lose the weight!
