I’ve been dieting since February of last year and have managed to lose most of my weight. 380 down to 225. I’m 5’8”, 23, male. Unfortunately, I have entered a high stress time of life and am having a ridiculously hard time staying on my diet so I can finish losing this weight.
What are some ways you distract yourself and cope when you want to stress eat? I’ve tried to occupy my mind by playing chess or Tetris but it never really works and I’ve found myself doing it so much now that I’m starting to get bored of those games. Of course, boredom makes me want to eat too.
I know a desire to eat when bored, sad, stressed, is a mental illness and honestly I need therapy. I can’t afford the $45 copay for each session though so I am left tackling it on my own.
