For the last week I have been feeling under the weather and 4 days ago a bad cold got me. Headache, sore throat, snotty nose, fever. So when I was getting pain killers I saw some sugar free cough drops. I've been trying to eat less/no sugar so it seemed perfect. I have been using these cough drops a lot because every time my throat gets dry I cough a lot and it hurts.
Today when I was putting on my shoes to get to my doctors appointment for this cold (because of the fever and being out of breath) I felt my stomach rumbling. Thinking it was just gass I thought nothing off it. And then it happened: I seriously shit my pants. So I had to clean up, find new pants and race to the doctors office because this whole thing made me late.
That is where I am typing this. I just checked the packaging of these cough drops. They do indeed say that excessive use may be laxative. So don't so what I did. Buy the sugary version or limit your use. Because shitting your pants does not feel good those few calories won with the sugar fee version was not worth it imo.
