Don't feel like eating at all... until it's too late.

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone can relate or has thoughts... when I am on a diet, I do a lot of intermittant fasting and I'm great at it for a few days, sometimes even a few weeks. I'm currently on day 4 of IF and feel just fine, not weak or starving or anything. In fact...

I haven't eaten since a big lunch at my parent's house 24 hours ago. I went home, skipped dinner due to lack of interest (can't eat anything else cheesy or sugary today, so meh), and I am now sitting at my cube not sure if I even feel like eating lunch. I am about to make myself eat something, though, and that's because I know for a fact if I just do without (because my lunch seems kinda boring/don't feel like I need it), that as soon as I get out of the office and hit 28 hours fasting I will easily talk myself into a 1500 calorie feast at Subway, and probably some ice cream from the gas station for desert (I EARNED THIS, RAR). And it will only be a downward spiral from there until one day I wake up and suddenly remember I was supposed to be dieting, not cheating every single day.

I get bored with eating healthy (I know I should look more into home cooking variety), and I love feeling full of instantly available, tasty food. It's how I gained my weight, obviously. It's also like I get in this cognitive dissonance where my brain starts going, "Why bother eating this lunch? You'll lose even MORE weight if you just skip! And then later, you'll earn mayonaise and cheese time!" And thus the gorge starts.

So right now I'm going to take my lunch break and get some healthy protein, fat, and low glycemic carbs in me, even if I don't really feel like eating anything right now. Because taking it too far in the past has only served to sabotage my routine, discipline, and progress. And maybe somebody else needed to hear this today too.
