Struggling with not eating everything in front of me

We went to KFC for dinner last night. I splurged a little because I had calories left. I was full after my medium meal, but it still took a heck of a lot of willpower (and some help from my husband) to not eat the kids leftover chips and nuggets, or go back and order some tenders (because that’s what I’ve been craving).

Logically I knew I’d had enough. But the thought of leaving food uneaten was almost a physical pain! I know it in part stems from my grandmother and mother always telling me to eat everything on my plate and punishing me if I didn’t but I’m nearly 31 now. I can’t realistically keep using my childhood as an excuse.

I don’t know where I was going with this, except to maybe talk to someone who gets it!

On the upside! Even with KFC for dinner, I was still under my calorie goal for the day, so I can feel proud about that at least!
