Running with LoseIt - 1/28/19 - The Run Kit

This is a weekly post for the runners of LoseIt to check-in, share progress, and ask questions. Runners of all levels including those thinking of starting are welcome to post.

There's lots of

Each week I ramble on about some topic to share and stimulate convo.

This week...

Putting Together a Running Kit/Bag

I go on lunch runs from my office in Downtown Portland Oregon. This requires me to bring along everything I need for a run and post-run shower. (Yes, my office has a shower. I'm the only current employee who uses it, too.)

Here's what goes into my kit/bag.

Running Stuff

Running shorts (plus leggings, if it's cold).
Running shirt (plus long sleeve base layer for cold days).
Socks (I run mostly in Belaga Hidden Comfort) Running Shoes.
A Hat (mainly to keep sweat or rain out of eyes, but also to keep warm in the cold).
Contacts.
Sunglasses.
Amphipod running pack for phone and ID.
Heart Rate Monitor with Chest Strap.
Anti-Chafing stuff(Body Glide, Gold Bond, etc).

Post Run Stuff

Bag to hold running stuff (sweat proof, seals well).
Towels.
Clothes as needed. Shampoo, Soap/Bodywash, Deodorant.

Bag Prep

I have this bag ready to go at the beginning of the week, except for the shoes and heart rate monitor. I am always using those.

It's great having this together as I can sleep in and still get in a nice run. I can use the same bag for a gym workout if needed.

Weekly Check-in

How did it go this week? Is training going according to plan? Did you just complete a week of C25K? Have a race coming up you are training for, how is that going? Did you just do your first run, hit a new milestone, or have a question? Let us know!
