Orange “Theory” Fitness

Happy New Year all,

I joined Orange Theory Fitness this month- I am not trying to be a New Years resolution-er but I’ve been in a bit of a rut for exercise and since some of my coworkers really seem to really enjoy it, I thought I would try it.

To be honest, all I was expecting was a mixed cardio workout, so when I went to sign up the trainer explained all the orange heart rate zone/splat points etc.

Basically the main selling point was if you get your heart rate into the 81% or more of your max heart rate for at least 12 of the minutes of the workout, then you have a post workout effects of burning fat or calories for up to 36 hours.

Is this legitimate or would this just come from any hour long cardio class? Has anyone had a really positive experience with OTF?

I’ll think I’ll still go just for the cardio/music/motivation but I was just curious. Thanks!

Edit: Also, I thought this was the right place to post since I am doing it to lose weight as well as get in shape overall. But if not, I will move it to the correct sub. TY!
