My trick to get myself to track my food

When I’m in the habit of tracking my food I’m great, but when I’m out of the habit? Forget about it. Alarms, reminders, nothing works.

Recently I started tracking my app usage on my iPhone. In general I wanted to cut down my time on reddit and Instagram. Suddenly it occurred to me — I set both at 15 minute limits each, and I’m only allowed to add 15 minutes when I track a meal, snack, or exercise.

I’m killing three birds with one stone - cutting time on social media, working out sometimes just to give myself more time, and every time that reminder comes up I feel guilty extending my time if I don’t go track.

Thought I’d share in case others think app limits may work for them too!
