I started counting calories in October 2018 and got back into cycling due to almost being at my biggest again. I made a google sheet I made to track what I eat as I didn't truly trust the values from MFP. I have been using a garmin watch to track calories burnt that I leave on all day to get a good estimate of what my body needs. I also got after some time a set of garmin scales to measure weight and body metrics. I posted before when I managed to not be obese for the first time in maybe 8+ years and detailed a few of the measures it has taken such as, No crisps, cutting down on my beer consumption, cutting out take aways. Happy to answer any questions people have.
Below is an image of my weight lose journey that may be helpful to people as it isnt always a downwards slope I was using box scales at work until december when I got the garmin scales thus the trends get a bit more detailed.
The graph under that is my total calories burnt, followed by calories consumed per week which can vary from 8K to 10K depending on how the week has gone.
Hopefully this will help some newer people carry on when they see weight fluctuations and get to their healthy weight.
