I'm terrified to get on the scale

I hadn't weighed myself for YEARS. Years and years. I always used the excuse that it would trigger the meltdowns I used to have as a teenager when I stepped on the scale, which was true to a point. In diets before I figured if I ate healthily and measured my waist I would see progress. But inevitably I would mess up and then not measure myself.

I usually go out on my way to avoid scales - at the doctors or other certain activities - but I got caught out. I had to step on a scale a month ago and the numbers shocked me, which is why I'm now motivated to change. I've been really good for two weeks and I'm a convert to stats. I measure my steps, I weigh my food, I input my calories to MFP. I'm addicted to numbers!

The next hurdle - and the hardest - will be stepping on that scale. I was supposed to do it yesterday and chickened out, and then I chickened out again today. I know where I was two weeks ago - 283lbs/130kg - but I'm so scared that after the hard work the numbers won't have budged and it will send me back to my old habits.

Please give me some faith /loseit that I don't need to be scared!
