Little bit about me - I’ve spent more time being overweight than lean. My recorded heaviest weight was 217. My leanest was 145. Due to weightlifting, my 145 looked like 125. People didn’t believe me when I told them I was heavier. I felt great so I threw away all my fat clothes but I stopped meal prepping. Since I was still lifting, the weight slowly went up but I was in denial & continued my bad food habits.
At the start of this year, I saw 206.5 lbs on the scale. I’ve been slowly buying bigger & stretchier clothes so seeing this number was not a complete shock. It doesn’t look like my old 200+ weight because I have a lot more muscle but it still sucks.
I made a resolution to eat like an athlete as I prepare for a powerlifting meet in April. I train 5x week & on those days I eat a total of 2100 calories. On rest days, 1800 calories. On MFP, I have my food split into 6 meals & once I find the right macros for one day, I’ll eat the same stuff for the rest of the week.
These past 2 weeks I’ve cooked my lunches on Instapot and they’ve been healthy & satisfying! Next week, 2 of my friends & I are starting a meal swap. Each of us will cook a meal on Instapot & make 6 servings. We’ll give each person 2 servings. I’m honestly excited! I love food, I love eating, and I love having the support of my friends. I’m down 3 lbs already & I’m already beating my lifting numbers from last year!
