I was pretty fortunate to have my weight plateau around 240-245 regardless of what/when I ate. I've been around that weight for years and almost accepted that was the way it was going to be. I have worked out intermittently but nothing consistent, so I felt that I was doing pretty good. Then I saw a picture of me holding my daughter on Christmas morning and I was embarrassed that I "settled" for that.
So I scrambled and found this sub. Started logging food in MFP. Stopped drinking on weekdays. Signed up for a 10 Miler in April. I can only have 2 light beers each weekend. I'm not following a crazy diet, I'm just eating more of the right things and much less of the wrong things and committing to a training plan for that race.
Here are some things that I've noticed so far:
I was choosing snacks that were terrible for me.
Having two craft beers a night was setting me back in a huge way.
My go-to fast food meal that I got a couple times a week is exactly 2,100 calories. For one meal.
My go-to craft beer has 294 calories for one 12 oz bottle.
Nutella is non-negotiable but I can only have a small amount on days that I go for a run.
