70 lbs lost but struggling

Since Jan 1 of last year I have dropped 77 lbs. I tracked every day on MyFitnessPal and started walking for at least 5 hours a week. I have generally cut back on complex carbohydrates and sugars.

I still have about 70-100 lbs to lose, and I am really struggling with binge eating. When I sit in front of the television, I feel such a strong compulsion to stuff my face. I will eat a portion controlled and balanced dinner and feel full, but then the witching hour of about 8pm hits and I feel such a strong itch to eat. It really feels like an addiction. I know people have strong opinions about food being compared to drugs, but that is the best way I can describe my feelings.

I’m not sure how to fix this. I will have really great days where I make a lot of progress and feel great about myself, and then I will slide back on my progress and have a 3-4000 calorie day.

I am looking for some support and encouragement. You guys are amazing and always make me feel encouraged about my journey. You are the reason I had the courage to start my journey last year and you are the reason I am not giving up even when my bad habits derail me.
