Thoughts on a 48 hour complete fast to offset holidays?

First, I'm not talking about any long term unhealthy diet.

Like many, I've been overindulging a bit this week. Still logging and hitting gym but finding myself logging around 800 to 1000 calories a day over maintenance.

I'm finding my resolve waning. Like, I just blew 2 weeks of work this week so without something 'drastic' I'm going to feel like the next two weeks are 'wasted' just getting back to where I was.

Was considering a 48 hour complete fast to 'offset' the poor week. The math doesn't work out perfect, as I would still be over overall, but then it would feel like much less of a setback.

Thoughts? Anyone else considering something similar?
