Probably a Stupid Question: Weight loss without obsessive tracking?

Trigger Warning: Eating Disorders

I need to lose weight. After a long struggle with chronic illness, I feel I owe this gift to myself. I can get to that place of admitting that I need to change, but here's where things go a bit haywire: Every time I've used tracking food to lose weight, I've gotten obsessive and disordered (bingeing and restricting). It's taken a lot of time and therapy to get to a point where I don't struggle with disordered thinking about food and weight loss.

That said, I recognize that one cannot simply wish one's self lighter. I'm decent at pre-planning my meals and have improved greatly at portion control, but it's not enough. I'd like to be more mindful and focused in my eating habits, but without strict CICO or rather, without my knowing it's CICO. Is pre-planning meals the answer? Is there an app that would help me to pre-plan appropriately sized meals without actually telling me the calories counts?

I'm sorry if this is frequently asked or a stupid question, I just want to find sustainable weight loss without spiraling back into disordered thinking and food obsession. Thank you for your time.
