Hey everyone, long time lurker but finally ready to jump in. So a few years back I decided to lose weight and it resulted in some good results without me killing myself, I lost almost 50 pounds! I was so happy, it was as small as I'd been in years, and then I stayed happy and stopped working on it, eventually life caught up and things like buying a house and getting engaged meant I was less focused on keeping the weight down.
Fast forward to last weekend and my 31st, no major plans but after a stressful week for both of us I ended up having an anxiety attack, first time it had ever happened to me. Went to the doc and found I had elevated blood pressure, so between everything I am back fully committed to slimming down. So this week I went out and bought a food scales and new bathroom scales, and according to them I lost almost 9lb this week (based on what the doc told me my weight was the previous week, I hadn't weighted myself at that point.) Obviously I feel great although it does seem very high so I'm not getting ahead of myself and will look to my next weigh in for some actual feedback.
I guess I just wanted to confirm with all you good people that what I'm doing is "correct" (I realise, there's a number of ways of doing things, but I don't wanna come at all wrong).
So every day this week I've gone for a walk, some for 3KM others over 5KM. Is this enough exercise?
I'm weighing all my foods, daily intakes range from 1200 - 1800 calories, with lots of fresh fruit and veg throughout the day, some nuts some days for some fat (still feels wrong to eat fat). Drinking probably 3L of water each day and occasional diet soda.
I guess as pathetic as this sounds I'm looking for validation, am I doing things half right at all? Look forward to hearing for you all and thanks in advance foe you help on this journey.
