Today it begins. Feel free to hold me to my word.

I'm a yo-yo dieter and exerciser. I'm either fully on it (6 days of cardio with a diet of meat, fish, salad, veg, water and black coffee) or fully off it (zero exercise with a diet of every takeaway under the sun plus Crisps, chocolate, Fizzy, beer and any other snack inbetween).

I generally last 8 weeks on it before slowly creeping back to bad ways. I tend to lose c30lbs each time then whack it all back on plus some extra. I never make it to my target weight and as a result i never reach 'maintenance'.

I'm currently weigh 215lbs (a personal highest). I'm sick of it and today marks day 1 of a new approach for me. I'm going to start with what maintenance would look like for me, not set a target weight and take a sensible, manageable approach. I expect to lose decent amount of weight and feel a lot better about myself.

My only target at the moment is to last 3 months using this approach. I'm not going to weigh myself in the meantime as I find minor fluctuations can irritate me immensely.

Wish me luck. I'll report back in 3 months.
