For What Its Worth

“Woke up, fell out of bed, Dragged a comb across my head, Found my way downstairs and drank a cup, And looking up I noticed I was late” John Lennon / Paul McCartney

If you are reading this I’d like to thank you as it helps to bring meaning and purpose into my life. The little that you do is indeed well worth it.

spiral photoTo know the meaning of life one must understand the truth.  I recall Pilot before Jesus  Christ asking “What is truth?” The great irony was that ‘Truth’ was staring Pilot right in his face. Many people think that life is meaningless, that we are merely going in circles. This is only true if you do not understand life’s purpose. Yes, I fully see the circles.  Empires rise only to crash and fall. People are born to inevitably meet death. But from a different perspective life is not a circle.

If you view life from the correct way you will see that it is not a circle but a spiral. With this added perception you will see that life is indeed headed somewhere the spiral is ascending. What is happening on planet Earth is that God is choosing his children, building up their character and then calling them to glory. Each person called is a spiritual stone being used to build the temple of God.  Thus life not only has a definite purpose but a finite time as the temple will eventually be complete.

I want to tell you that whatever good you do on planet Earth is well worth it. That every act of kindness, though it seems so trivial is in fact invaluable. The smiles, the hellos, the kind words, let alone the great acts of generosity really make an impact. Life is a battle between light and darkness, good and evil, love and hatred. Though we all waver between the two there is, in fact, no neutral ground. One must decide how they will live their lives and that is a conscious choice. Every day we are faced with thousands of decisions, I ask you what motivates and directs you? If it is some motive outside of kindness and love you have fallen short.

These writings, though very obscure, have taken a very prominent meaning in my life. I have, for the moment, stopped writing outside of this blog. Perhaps I will write a song lyric or two but that is all. I have not abandoned the dream of writing. The lack of commercial success is extremely discouraging. Also, I am trying to get my wife Sylvia into a nursing home. Sylvia suffers from dementia and she is deteriorating physically. Soon it will become impossible for me to bring her to the shower. I already have to half carry her. We do not qualify for Medicaid and I cannot afford the ten thousand dollars a month bill for the nursing home. Woe is us. But still we go on, there is no other choice. Still, I hope for a miracle.

Instead of writing, I am doing a great deal of reading. Also, I am trying to improve my vocabulary. I am certain when certain life changes take place I will be once more compelled to write. When both of my parents passed away in the same year my writing flourished. This boom lasted seven years. I am confident the winds of inspiration will once more fill my sails and I will write prolifically again. To me, my art is part of the gift that God gave me and I am instructed to use my talents.

I try to write this blog every day despite having a relatively small regular audience. It does not matter to me if only one person reads it. What I am doing here is chronicling the times and making a permanent and public record. These words are a testimony to who I am and what motivates me. They are nothing but forthright and honest and a mirror to my soul. Perhaps one day these writing will be gathered in a book to be read by millions, you never know.

We are on this journey on planet Earth together. What I do affects you and in turn what you do affects me. When the masses turn a blind eye to the horrific events going on everybody suffers. The people hold the power to change this world into anything they want. The plutocrats who rule this world are a small minority and if the people organized change would be simplistic and trivial. But don’t put off your living for some future day, be the change you want to see today.

If you even just give one hungry man a meal you have made a great impact on that man’s life.

Please support my writing. A great interesting book would be a collection of science fiction stories called “From Chaos To Cosmos.” I pride myself on being unique in my writing and telling great stories. Check it out and tell me what you think. https://amzn.to/2y7wZdJ
