so first of all, i apologize if the formatting is weird, or if there’s grammar or spelling mistakes, or if this is the incorrect subreddit. i’m on my phone and it’s 4am. if you could stick through this post and give me some advice, that’d be great. let me introduce myself.
my name is ari and i’m 19, 5’4, and 240 pounds. i struggle from depression, anxiety, and binge eating disorder. i have gained 100 pounds since the summer of 2014, after an abusive relationship and struggling with high school, and i’ve hit my fucking breaking point.
ihave always struggled with my self esteem since i was very young and i’ve gone through trying to lose weight at multiple points in my life, all ending in failure after losing a few pounds and then getting tired of counting calories.
i have very low metabolism and lots of health issues in my family, and i also suffer from low estrogen levels.
i recently quit an amazing job (i’m talking four days ago) because i had the worst mental breakdown i’ve had since my sophomore year of high school. i stepped on that scale and read 240, which i kept telling myself was my fear weight. i broke the fuck down and have been in a rut for days, but i had a breath of fresh air tonight.
i am making a promise to myself, and reddit, mark my words, that this is the last time i let myself sit stagnant. i am going to get off my ass, put better food into my body, and be more active. i am going to be healthy.
i have $1000 in my bank account, and i have no idea what to do with it to help me with this. should i sign up for a $10/month planet fitness membership, or find a personal trainer? is CICO enough? is IF unhealthy? as someone who eats late at night (sleep apnea + insomnia is a hell of a drug), if i do IF, what should my timeframe be?
i would like to get back down to 140, but my first goal is to get down to 200. i haven’t been under 200 in two years. god, that’d be a nice number to see.
any and all advice would be helpful. thank you for taking the time to read this, as this is my last hope tbh.
edit: added extra details about my goals.
