[SV] I gained back 8 pounds I lost.. and it's totally okay! [F, 154lbs, 5ft]

Or is it a NSV? ;)

When I started with Loseit and began tracking my calories, I worked really hard over the course of a year and slowly and went from 163lbs to 146lbs, a 17lbs difference- which astounded me!

But then life got crazy- work picked up a lot, personal stress hit, and recently I stopped tracking. I'm now back to 154lbs after only 4 months.

Before doing this program, I would have been SO discouraged by this, and probably spiralled into a "screw it" attitude, leading to me gaining a LOT more very quickly.

BUT because of reading so much here, seeing encouraging progress photos, and learning how to log, three wonderful things happened:

  1. I'm still SUPER positive about the whole thing! I've learned that I can lose weight, and I know exactly how to do it. It's within my abilities! Gaining a few pounds isn't a big deal. I'm still not ever going back to where I was.

  2. Even though I haven't been tracking, I learned how to make MUCH better choices, such as how to portion and choose better alternatives. I made lifestyle changes (buying pre-portioned snacks was a huge one for me ,especially for things that are treats, such as chips), so that's not going away life a fad diet would. :)

  3. My husband, who is very dangerously overweight, was encouraged by my journey and is now logging and making BIG changes!!! Although it's still too early for major changes with his weight, he's going from eating entire pizzas for lunch and dinner to portioning out a slice or two and balancing with high-protein snack or protein shake in between meals. :) I'm so proud!! He's paying attention to serving sizes, portion sizes, and his habits.

Thank you so much, everyone, for contributing to my success- no matter how much the scale might go up or down along the way! <3
