I was a serial scaler: I stepped on the scale at least once a day. Sometimes multiple times a day (Oh, I went pee, I wonder if I lost any weight. Better step on the scale!) My mood could be drastically changed by it. Sometimes for the better but most times for the worse. I would wake up feeling great, step on the scale, not see what I wanted and feel terrible. A little over a month ago I got my boyfriend to hide the scale at a corner of the closet that I can’t reach even with a step ladder. It’s been amazing! I find it actually helped me eat better consistently. Before if I got on the scale and had gained weight I would say screw it and eat whatever I wanted. Now I’m eating healthier to live better and not for the number on the scale. I can already see and feel the changes in my body. I know that I will lose weight living this way but now the numbers don’t control me.
