The one on the left is me at my heaviest (or almost) of 78kgs/172lbs. Currently hovering around 53kgs/117lbs!
My new years resolution from the time I was 13 was to lose weight and get to 58kgs. I was 66 at that time. I yo-yoed many times, sometimes managing to maintain for a year or two at lows close to 62kgs and even went on to hit a high of 78kgs! I hit my goal in November 2017 and 2018 was the first year I could let go of that goal. I am 29 now. That's 2/3 of my life!!
In case anyone is wondering how I did it... It was all diet. I exercised for YEARS- powerlifting, crossfit, half marathons, obstacle races, acrobatics- you name it, I tried it!- but ate whatever I wanted. Even if I got really strict, I still ate a lot.
The last year or so I made a REALLY conscious decision to get serious about my diet, cut down on my exercise so I wouldn't get that 'entitled to eat' feeling, and here I am! Smashed my goal weight months ago!
I had tried everything from Keto to IF to the Dukan Diet to a day or two of the awful General Motors Diet and I think the only reason I didn't go for some sort of 'lipolysis' is because I was too young to get away with it without my parents finding out. I lost various amounts of weight on each experiment, only to have it all creep back as soon as I relaxed. Nothing worked the way CICO did and now I eat all my favourite foods, but in moderation.
I was always told I had 'big bones' and I believed it, never really bothering to introspect on my lifestyle choices. My immediate family is relatively fit- no one is overweight, though a few in my extended family are borderline obese- so I just assumed I had the fat genes :/
Well! Lookie here! I'm not destined to be fat! There was a time XL clothes didn't fit and now I'm a comfortable XS-M! My newest motto is- I'd rather wear whatever I want, than eat whatever I want!
