Trying to begin and get to 200lb

21M 5'11" SW:260 CW:258 GW:200 Type 2 Diabetic

Back in February, I told myself I was going to start then, so I could look better by Spring break. My lack of food knowledge and cooking didn't allow that to happen. I remained 260lb. In May, when junior year ended, I said i would work hard so I can look better for Senior year. Senior year starts in a week, and nothing but 2 measly pounds have changed. I have been logging MyFitnessPal for almost a month straight now. I have stopped eating fast food. I drink only water and Soy/Almond milk.

I want to lose fat, I am 30% body fat if not higher. I don't mind Whey protein, I bought a blender so i could throw in some bananas and PB2 for their Double Rich Chocolate flavor. Now all I need is to buy the powder. For the first 3 months in May until July I tried staying 1500Cal or under. It didn't work. Now after multiple calculators with IIFYM, and FreeDieting if I put in 5 days of exercise is says extreme fat loss is at 2080. If i put in little to no exercise it is the exact same amount. In the MyFitnessPal app if I select Active, my calorie goal is 2510. I don't know what to do about this.

All of this is really messing with my mental health. I want to cut, but I don't want to lose muscle mass.
